Waiuku is a rural town on the border of Auckland and Waikato in New Zealand. It was part of the Franklin District prior to 2010. Most of the town is now within the boundaries of Auckland Council, and some in the area of area of Waikato District Council.
Waiuku in mainly known for the steel mill at Glenbrook, which is four kilometres to the northeast. There is also a vintage railway station located in Glenbrook as well. Waiuku as hosts the Steel 'N' Wheels Festival which sees a lot of classic cars in the township.
The local pub (seen in this video), called The Kentish Hotel, is New Zealand's longest continuously licensed hotel.
Waiuku is approximately 60km from Auckland's CBD (40km from Manukau City Centre in South Auckland) and about 100km from Hamilton's CBD.
There public transport to Waiuku connects via Pukekohe (about 20km away)
