Radicalization can be defined as a process whereby an individual or a group takes on increasingly extremist views. These views never appear in a vacuum and are often the result of and modified by social interaction. Therefore, one way to study radicalization is by viewing at it from the perspective of temporal network models. These mathematical models help us to understand how natural social tendencies such as reciprocity and triadic closure allow radical groups to groom susceptible individuals into different ideological space. However, these insights can be helpful in preventing radicalization.
