Our guest speaker for our PCA Lecture Series is Mario F. Mendez, MD, PhD, is a behavioral neurologist and director of the neurobehavioral program at the VA Greater Los Angeles and is a professor of neurology at UCLA. In the 1980s, Dr. Mendez did a neurobehavioral fellowship with D. Frank Benson, the neurologist who first described posterior cortical atrophy. Dr. Mendez directs the Focal-type Dementia Clinic and Program. He studies the clinical aspects of PCA, as well as frontotemporal dementia and primary progressive aphasia.
