Taylor's biggest body shape blends power, detail and balance across the tonal spectrum. As a tonewood, Mahogany is prized for balance and articulation. The 528e comes standard with a Mahogany top. A Spruce or Cedar top is available as an additional upgrade. The new-generation piezo pickup Expression System 2 is standard as well as the Venetian cutaway.

Taylor Guitars' Michael Lille runs the 500 series Grand Concert through several playing styles including fingerstyle, flatpicking and a lovely chordal pattern.
