Grape Disease Management: Best Practices for Disease and Fungicide Resistance Management

Michelle Moyer is an Associate Professor and Extension Specialist for Viticulture in the Department of Horticulture at Washington State University, based at the Irrigated Agriculture Research and Extension Center in Prosser, WA. Her Extension responsibilities cover viticulture education across the state, and includes juice, processing, and wine grape production. Her research program focuses on integrated pest management, with an emphasis on the interface between plant physiology and pest management. She has active research and extension projects on fungicide resistance, nematode management, rootstock evaluations, trunk disease management, sprayer optimization and education, and powdery mildew management.

Timothy Miles is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Plant, Soil and Microbial Sciences at Michigan State University and is located in East Lansing, MI. His research focuses on pathogen management using fungicides and the underlying mechanisms of fungicide resistance within blueberries, grapes, hops and other small fruit crops. In extension, Timothy works with growers to develop and implement best management practices within the systems he conducts research. One critical aspect of his extension program is conducting fungicide efficacy testing.
