One of several activities we enjoyed so much during our 4 day/3 night stay with Rainforest Expeditions at their incredible Refugio Amazonas Lodge, in the Tambopata region of Peru's Amazon basin.
Four days of exploring, learning, adventuring, enjoying locally sourced Peruvian fresh fruit and cuisine, crashing hard each night and waking up to natural sounds from our open-air suites. These days were absolute magic.
This section of the river nearest the lodge was a 2 1/2 hour longboat ride upstream from Puerto Maldonado.
