Goods worth more than R5 million have been seized at the China Mall in
Springfield, Durban, following a surprise raid by the National
Regulator for Compulsory Specifications.
The regulator, police and National Consumer Commission say the
confiscated products are unsafe.
The crackdown is part of a national campaign to remove dangerous goods
from South African markets.
