The Ze Kasho Shrine (Ze Kasho Apparatus trial) is accessible early in the game, near South Akkala Stable, west-northwest of a T-intersection. The trial uses motion controls (tilt your controller or use R-Stick on non-motion setups) to manipulate platforms, clear obstacles, and activate switches. It includes one treasure chest and a Spirit Orb, with puzzles involving spikes, lasers, and a multi-switch platform.
Solving the Ze Kasho Apparatus Trial
First Puzzle (Spike Traps):
Enter the Shrine and approach the central motion-control terminal. Interact (A) to control a platform with spikes.
Tilt your controller forward (or R-Stick down) to lower the far edge, then left or right (or R-Stick side-to-side) to move spikes aside, creating a clear path in the center. Release the controls, then reactivate to recenter the platform.
Cross the bridge to the next area.
Tip: Save before tilting; practice small tilts to avoid overcorrecting. Use Radiant Armor (Gerudo Secret Club, 2400 Rupees + 9 Luminous Stones) at night (~1:00 AM, rest at a campfire with Wood + Flint, 20 Rupees at stables) for better visibility.
Second Puzzle (Laser Room):
Enter a large room with four laser-emitting statues and a central crystal switch. Shoot the switch with an Arrow (R, ZR, e.g., Traveler’s Bow, 5 damage, Hyrule Field) to rotate square blocks, temporarily blocking lasers.
Sprint (B + L-Stick) across the platform to the far side before the blocks rotate back (~5 seconds). Alternatively, use Stasis (L, A) on each statue to stop lasers one-by-one, crossing slowly.
Tip: Save before shooting; stand near the switch to visualize block movement. Use slow-motion aiming (jump, ZL, X, ZR) for accurate shots. Avoid the gap in the center (~2 hearts fall damage).
Treasure Chest (Silverscale Spear):
In the laser room, look right to see a chest on a high ledge. Shoot the crystal switch again to rotate the blocks. Time your jump (X) onto a block as it rises on the lower side (watch for lasers). Ride the block up, then paraglide (X) to the ledge at max height. Open the chest (A) for a Silverscale Spear (12 damage, 40 durability).
Tip: Save before jumping; timing is tight. Bomb Arrows or Magnesis won’t help here—rely on precise jumps.
Final Puzzle (Ball Switches):
Proceed to the next room and interact with another motion-control terminal (A). Tilt the platform to guide three metal balls into three switches (recessed slots) simultaneously. Use the central block to divide the balls, tilting gently to roll each into a slot.
If a ball falls, a replacement rolls in from a ramp on the left.
Tip: Save before tilting; take your time to align all three balls. Small, controlled tilts prevent flipping balls off. Once all switches turn blue, the gate to the altar opens.
Reach the Altar:
Pass through the gate and interact with Monk Ze Kasho (A) to receive a Spirit Orb.
Tip: Save before interacting to secure the reward.
