Humdum is a word of Urdu origin that means close companion, soulmate, or cherished friend.
It's often used in poetry and songs to refer to someone very dear and close to one's heart.
It's a term that encapsulates the deep bond shared between two people and it has been beautifully used by lyricists Majrooh Sultanpuri and Hasrat Jaipuri in these film songs that I have chosen for this presentation of mine.
