Los restos de Jimmy Carter llegan a Washington para el funeral de Estado que se celebrará el 9 de enero. La procesión fúnebre con carruaje traslada los restos hasta el Capitolio de Estados Unidos.
Finalmente, el cuerpo será colocado en la Rotonda del Capitolio y se instalará capilla ardiente, que permanecerá abierta hasta la mañana del 9 de enero.
