Jacinta Hunt of Portland, Maine was selected as a Rising Scholar at the University of Maine at Augusta where she is enrolled in the Liberal Studies program.
Rising Scholars are defined by having excelled in or out of the classroom, or who is believed to show great potential and promise as student scholars. Selected scholars nominated by UMA faculty and staff are recognized at Convocation each fall for student achievement and promise/potential.

About the Program:
Earning an Associates or Bachelors of Arts in Liberal Studies is ideal for students who enjoy a wide variety of academic interests, or those who haven’t found one passion. This program gives students a wide menu of courses to choose from, to develop a solid foundation in the humanities, social sciences, mathematics, and natural sciences. Students then choose a minor, rather than a major, in one area.
