This is the second instalment in the Global Institute for Disease Elimination's (GLIDE) new online video series, Eliminating Diseases. It focuses on Cameroon’s efforts to eliminate river blindness (onchocerciasis). With many infectious tropical diseases, reaching the ‘last mile’ is often the hardest to achieve as tracking efforts and medication advice can be met with skepticism from some quarters of the population, halting elimination work. This is the story of how dedicated advocates at local and global levels are working to eliminate this disease.
