Lent Devotional | Perseverance

This Lent, we will be living in 2 Peter 1, verses 3-11. This scripture attests that by reason of God's promises and unwavering faithfulness, His church is made free from the corruption that is in this world. And Peter makes the case then, that for that very reason, we should supplement our faith with qualities essential for the believer's spiritual success. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, Peter says, they will keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful. In other words, building on these attributes strengthens the believer and keeps our faith from atrophy.
