Five Red Soup (五红汤) is a traditional Chinese recipe known for its health benefits. It is often made with five red-colored ingredients, which typically include:
Red Dates (Jujubes): Known for their blood-nourishing properties.
Goji Berries: Rich in antioxidants and beneficial for overall health.
Red Beans: A good source of protein and fiber.
Red Peanuts: High in healthy fats and protein.
Chinese Red Sugar: Used for sweetening and adding warmth to the soup.
These ingredients are believed to promote blood circulation, enhance energy, and improve complexion, making this soup a popular choice for maintaining good health and vitality among Chinese

Recipes:
1/4 cup red peanuts
1/4 cup adzuki red beans
10 dried red dates (jujubes)
1/4 cup dried goji berries
2-3 tablespoon of brown sugar (or to taste)
6 cups of water
Instructions:
1. Preparation: Rinse red peanuts and adzuki red beans, and soak in lukewarm water for 2 hours.
2. Boil: In a large pot, combine the red beans, peanuts and jujube dates with 6 cups of water. Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the beans and peanuts are tender.
You can also use pressure cooker like me, pressure cook for half an hour
3. Add goji berries and sugar in the end to taste.
You can serve it hot or cold. Sometimes, we like to thicken the soup by boiling a little longer, and add milk to make it a milky dessert.
