Van Life UK - Glastonbury & Wells (Somerset) 2024

Today's vanlife travel adventure comes from Glastonbury and Wells which are both in Somerset. I've been travelling around the south coast of England a bit as last weekend I filmed in Brighton in the south east and this week I headed out west, stopping in Dorset on the way.
Glastonbury certainly has a vibe about it. Lots of hippies, musicians, spiritual coolness, insence and colourful clothes, probably made of hemp.
I picked up Claudia (my daughter) from Bath on the way and we parked for free right in the centre of town. We didn't go and see the ruins of the abbey as the weather wasn't fantastic and it was over £12 each which I thought was a bit steep. After walking around and grabbing a bite toi eat we tghen headed off to Wells which was just a few miles away.
I was really impressed with Wells, which is England's smallest city.
We parked for free in Tesco car park. This gives you an hour and a half which was just right for us. We did shop there too after looking around as it's where I bought my dinner. We walked into the centre of town which is really nice. Lots of old buildings, independent shops and a fantastic cathedral and grounds. I didn't pay to go inside the cathedral and bishops palace but some people might want to do this. I filmed in a few churches and cathedrals already and also thought £40 for us to look around was too expensive.
Things seem to be getting really expensive at the moment and I only work part time. My choice I know but it means I can't do everything when I visit these places.
Anyway, it's up there with one of my favourite places visited so far in the south west of England.
