Fr Nicolás will be retiring from office towards the end of 2016. It is his idea that each of the said traditions has something unique to contribute towards a greater knowledge of Jesus: Asian traditions have a certain depth in the understanding of "the Way"; European traditions, "the Truth"; and African traditions, "the Life". Therefore, what Asia has in abundance, Europe, Africa and the world in general are greatly in need of; what Europe has in abundance, Asia, Africa, and the world in general are greatly in need of; and what Africa has in abundance, Asia, Europe and the world in general are greatly in need of. This explains the project's full title: The Way, the Truth and the Life: A Confluence of Asia, Europe and Africa in Jesus of Nazareth.
