... diesmal geht´s auch wieder ins Umland von Plakias!
Wenn man von Plakias nach Osten fährt - kommt man nach Lefkogia zu einer Abzweigung nach Giannou - wo man
eine interessante Abkürzung - über den Berg - zum KLOSTER PREVELI fahren kann!
Auch dieses Kloster wurde schon vor längerer Zeit komplett restauriert!
Im Gegensatz zu Finikias wIrd dieses Kloster von Touristen gestürmt - da ist Zeitmanagement gefragt!
Adele
Unser "111 Sehenswürdigkeiten auf Kreta" - Reiseführer brachte uns zur einmaligen Drechslerwerkstatt nach Adele!
Asomatos
Hier gibt es ein kleines kurioses Museum, das Pater Michalis in jahrelanger Sammlertätigkeit zusammengetragen hat!
Mariou
Die über 1000 Jahre alte Kapelle ist einmalig - den Schlüssel dazu gibt´s nebenan - westlich ... circa 50 Meter!
Kapelle in der Kourtaliotiko Schlucht - an der Hauptstrasse!
Fährt man von Plakias in die Kourtaliotiko Schlucht nach Norden ist bei der Hälfte der Schlucht in der linken Felswand
eine kleine - ebenfalls aufwändig restaurierte Kapelle!
Es gibt da aber noch eine zweite Kapelle unterhalb der Strasse - diese hatten wir vor Jahren besucht !
Patsos Schlucht - Taverna Drimos - Antonios Kapelle
Viele Wegweiser zeigen die Taverna Drimos überall in der weitläufigen Gegend an - hier ist der Einstieg in die Patsos Schlucht!
Diese Taverne ist riesig - interessant - mit einem eigenen kleinen Tiergarten - leider ist das Personal eher widerwillig und unfreundlich!
Dafür entschädigte uns COCO - der einmalige Papagei - beim Eingang - wenn er gut drauf ist redet er .... kauderwelsch !
Die anschließende Schlucht ist am Beginn bis zur Antonios Kapelle sehr gut zu begehen!
In weiterer Folge wird dieser Steig immer wilder und schwierig zu begehen!
Diese Schlucht führt dann bis zum Potamon Stausee - das riesige Wasserreservoir Rethimnons und Umgebung!

... this time it's back to the surroundings of Plakias!
If you drive east from Plakias - you come to Lefkogia to a turnoff to Giannou - where you
an interesting shortcut - over the mountain - to the PREVELI MONASTERY!
This monastery was also completely restored a long time ago!
In contrast to Finikias this monastery was stormed by tourists - time management is required!
Adele
Our "111 sights in Crete" guide took us to the unique woodturning workshop in Adele!
Asomatos
There is a small curious museum here, which Father Michalis has collected over many years of collecting!
Mariou
The over 1000 year old chapel is unique - the key to it is next door - west ... about 50 meters!
Chapel in the Kourtaliotiko gorge - on the main road!
If you drive north from Plakias into the Kourtaliotiko gorge, half of the gorge is in the left rock face a small - also elaborately restored chapel!
But there is a second chapel below the road - we had visited it years ago!
Patsos Gorge - Taverna Drimos - Antonios Chapel
Many signposts indicate the Taverna Drimos throughout the extensive area - here is the entrance to the Patsos gorge!
This tavern is huge - interesting - with its own small zoo - unfortunately the staff is rather reluctant and unfriendly!
COCO - the unique parrot - compensated us for this at the entrance - if he is in a good mood he talks .... gibberish!
The following gorge is very easy to walk at the beginning up to Antonios Chapel!
Subsequently, this trail becomes more and more wild and difficult to walk!
This gorge then leads to the Potamon reservoir - the huge water reservoir of Rethignon and surroundings!
