AECOM Ministry of Highways - Highway 2/102 Corridor Functional Planning Study

This project, led by AECOM for the Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways, developed a functional planning strategy for the Highway 2/102 corridor through La Ronge, Air Ronge, and the Lac La Ronge Indian Band. With growing populations and increased traffic, the study addressed critical safety, capacity, and access issues. AECOM applied a holistic engineering approach, incorporating Vision Zero principles and Indigenous consultation to create a phased plan for long-term, sustainable infrastructure improvements. The project overcame the challenges of remote location and pandemic restrictions by implementing innovative virtual engagement tools. The result is a safer corridor that supports community growth and resilience.
