WATCH as our members arrive to a recent structure fire in the City of Hesperia where multiple people were reported trapped inside. Crews, alongside Sheriff’s Deputies, rescued a bedridden resident through a window while battling heavy smoke conditions that had dropped visibility to the floor. Multiple dogs inside the home were also rescued and survived.
This is exactly why staffing and response times matter. When minutes mean the difference between life and death, it takes enough stations, engines, and properly staffed crews to protect our urban communities.

Incident Information:
FIREFIGHTERS RESCUE ONE AT EARLY FRIDAY AM HESPERIA FIRE
Hesperia: County Fire crews in Hesperia successfully rescued one resident and quickly contained a fire at a home on Hemlock Ave. just north of Main Street early Friday morning.
The first engine company arrived just after midnight, reporting a smoke-filled home along with information that an adult female was still inside and unable to get out. Firefighters quickly joined a sheriff’s deputy at a bedroom window attempting to reach the subject, ultimately climbing through the window, closing the door to the room to prevent fire spread, and lifting the woman to safety outside. The deputy assisted in the effort as well.
A second resident, also an adult female, had escaped the smoke-filled home just as crews arrived. County Fire EMS crews treated both residents as well as the deputy for minor injuries on scene. The rescued individual was taken to a local hospital for further treatment.
Meanwhile interior fire attack crews extinguished the fire in coordination with truck company operations on the roof, largely containing the fire to a back room and saving a majority of the home from major fire damage.
A total of six dogs were successfully accounted for as well, including several who were retrieved from the home. All survived, and neighbors took them into their care.
A total of four engine companies, three ambulances, one ladder truck, a battalion chief and an investigator responded.
The cause of the fire is now under investigation by the County Fire Office of the Fire Marshal.
