I decided to give my two acoustic guitars a little upgrade by installing strap buttons, and I thought I'd share it with you in case anyone else finds it useful! Good luck and have a great day!
1) Choose the right spot on the heel of the neck to install the strap button—this will prevent the strap from slipping later. Use a pilot hole slightly smaller than the screw to prevent splitting.
2) Measure the screw hole depth and mark it on your drill bit to avoid drilling too deep.
3) Carefully drill the hole, then install the strap button with a washer. Don’t overtighten—this ensures the screw grips firmly without stripping the wood. Add a soft pad between the button and guitar to protect the finish.
