Then humanity arrived and asked the one question no one had prepared for:

At the unveiling of the Galactic Taxonomy Bureau’s grand Universal Threat Classification System, everything goes smoothly—until the human entry appears.

Instead of a category, the display flickers, freezes, and spits out a single warning:

“REGULATORY PARADOX – DO NOT ENGAGE.”

No one knows what it means.
Every attempt to classify humans has failed spectacularly:

— Research teams resign mid-study.
— Scanners gain names, personalities, and legal rights.
— Experiments unionize themselves and negotiate hazard pay.
— Humans critique their own threat assessments while being assessed.

When Earth’s Ambassador Damon demands an explanation, the Bureau reluctantly unlocks the forbidden archives—ancient logs, abandoned threat tiers, and a warning about species that exist orthogonal to classification.
Not above predators.
Not below prey.
But sideways to the very idea of hierarchy itself.

And so the galaxy is forced to adopt a new, unprecedented label:

“Managed Uncertainty – Engagement Discretionary.”

Humanity becomes the first officially unclassifiable species… which somehow makes them even more terrifying.
