Hiking in Switzerland | Dent de Nendaz via Balavaux | Swiss Alps Canton Valais | 2020 (4K-Video)

Breathtaking view over the Swiss Alps as we hiked over the mountain ridge trail from Le Basso d'Alou to the Dent de Nendaz. At Haute-Nendaz cable car station we took a cab ride and started our tour near the small lake Gouille d'Ouché. Then we followed the famous irrigation canal Bisse de Saxon all around the mountain and up to the village of Prarion. The path climbs continously until we reached the alp Balavaux. A very steep alpine trail brought us all the way from Balavaux up to the mountain ridge at Le Basso d'Alou. From there we followed the challenging ridge trail up and down over various peaks until we finally reached the summit of Dent de Nendaz. From there we descended to the Tracouet lake and the cable car station of Tracouet where we took a ride back down to Haute-Nendaz.

Tour itinerary
The tour officially starts at the Haute-Nendaz cable car station but we skipped the first 4 km/300m with a cab ride and started our tour at the lake Gouille d'Ouché (1710m). After a short hike the path joins with the Bisse de Saxon (1755m). On almost level ground you follow all around the mountain until the path diverges to the alpine village of Prarion. The trail continously climbs to Prarion and then even further to the alp Balavaux (2050m). Soon after Balavaux a steep alpine trail leads directly to the ridge at Le Basso d'Alou (2337m). From there you follow the rige all the way to Dent de Nendaz (2463m). Once you reach the summit you can see the cable car station at lake Tracouet down below (2169m). A last descent brings you to the lake and the station where the cable car brings you back down to Haute-Nendaz.
