York station came alive today with not one but two steam rail tours and a Deltic all gracing the city at lunchtime!

We begin with GBRF Class 60 60002 'Graham Farish 50th Anniversary 1970 - 2020' on the DRAX wagons and Colas Class 37s 37099 ‘Merl Evans 1947-2016’ and 37219 ‘Jonty Jarvis 8-12-1998 to 18-3-2005’ on the RHTT before a couple of shots of Blue Peter being prepared at the National Railway Museum following her arrival last night    • 60532 ‘Blue Peter’ at York, LNER 4771 ‘Gre...  

We then begin the rail tour action with LMS Black 5 44871 arriving with the Railway Touring Company The York Yuletide Express terminating at York before hearing to the yard for turning and servicing.

Not long after a North Eastern thoroughbred in the shape of D9000 ‘Royal Scots Grey’ arrives into York with Steam Dreams 4 day ‘Edinburgh Christmas Market’ excursion up to Scotland, looking immaculate and sounding brilliant running on both engines ready to perform a loco swap with 60532 ‘Blue Peter’ before the A2 lays down the power with a fantastic departure out of York! | 27.11.2025
