Windows of Understanding pairs 24 non-profit organizations with an artist facilitator to create original works of art that address issues of social justice. Now in its fifth year, the works will be on display at venues throughout New Brunswick, Highland Park, Metuchen, and South Plainfield through February 28, 2022. A third of the artists involved in this project are current students or alumni of Mason Gross School of the Arts. Rutgers featured organizations and programs: Rutgers Climate Institute; Urban Ag Lab, Rutgers University Landscape Architecture Department; Rutgers Student Food Pantry; Rutgers Collaborative Center for Community-Engaged Learning and Research; SAS Honors Program; Rutgers University Art Library; The Zimmerli Art Museum.
