A Misfit Christmas // THREEology Four Christmases

Luke 1-2 reminds us that when Jesus came to the earth, there wasn’t a great delegation of influencers and luminaries awaiting His arrival. His birth was heralded by those with no credentials or qualifications to their name. An older, childless couple who thought their childbearing years were far behind them. A teenage girl in a no-name town. A ragtag group of shepherds watching their flocks on the hillside. An old widow serving in the Temple day and night. These were the people who welcomed Jesus. More importantly, these are the people who surrounded Jesus. He didn’t come to earth as one of the rich and famous. He was counted among the poor and ignored. But, the depth of humility only serves to reveal the depth of our need.

This Christmas, we're going to walk through four New Testament accounts of the birth of Jesus. While some accounts fit in with our traditional Nativity scenes, a few challenge our assumptions and expectations of what Christmas is all about. By looking each of these passages, we get a better idea of who the baby in the manger really is and what He has come to do. Join us this Advent season for THREEOLOGY: Four Christmases Edition!
