1995 Mercedes Benz E500 Limited AMG 6.0

All of the Mercedes-Benz E500 Limited were assembled primarily on the MB production line with final assembly and tuning by Porsche. They were the rarest of the 500E and E500 variants and the most potent and capable of those unique models. Only 500 of the E500 Limited examples were planned to be completed, however orders poured in and eventually MB relented and 951 were completed.

They were all built under option code 958 so if you come across one that does not have that code, it is a clone or a fake. Option code 958 gave you the following:

-17-inch EVO-II alloy wheels
-Special two-tone patterned leather interiors, two-tone steering wheels, and black bird’s-eye maple wood trim
-Two exclusive metallic paint colors, Sapphire Black and Zircon Silver (Sometimes referred to as Brilliant Silver Metallic)
-Color-coded lower body cladding.
-All Limited E500 models were built in cooperation with Porsche.

Among the 951 E500 Limited models, there is an even rarer variant known as the E60 AMG Limited. These cars were factory-equipped with a 6.0L V8 engine and other AMG features.

These vehicles received both the “957” (AMG technology package) and “958” (E500 Limited package) option codes on their data cards. Only 45 of these rare models were initially produced, however demand again forced AMG to assemble an additional 15 giving a total production of 60.

The original order for this car came from a Japanese AMG collector. His order for an E500 Limited AMG 6.0 was not accepted in time before the 45 examples were spoken for. He instead opted to have the car shipped direct to AMG Japan for completion where it is one of only two known to have been so delivered new.

This can be confirmed easily be examining the original registration record for the car that confirms it was delivered and registered new in April 1996 with an AMG 119 5.95-liter engine.

The car was delivered new by AMG Japan to the original owner. There were two additional private owners thereafter and a single dealer prior to our purchase.

The full Japanese DMV Extract showing full ownership details from new and covering each owner’s purchase prior to our purchase are also posted to the auction gallery. The records further confirm the original low mileage.

Other than the original when new AMG option code 957 (AMG Technology Package) options, the car remains completely stock as delivered to the first private owner.
