Nathan has a Bachelor’s degree in Bio-engineering from the University of California at Berkeley and a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University. Nathan became interested in engineering when he watched Tony Stark from Iron Man build cool stuff. However when he got to college, Nathan learned that he didn’t like engineering, but instead he just liked the idea of engineering. According to Nathan, it wasn’t until he became an upperclassman that he started actually building stuff and using the knowledge that he actually learned. Before that time he questioned why he was actually learning the coursework. But Nathan did not quit and decided to stay with it and later he built a robot capable of autonomous navigation in one of his courses. Nathan advises engineering students, “If you ever find yourself sitting in class and wondering why you are learning all of this useless stuff, just remember that it is not actually useless. There will be a day when you will be able to use this knowledge and build something cool.”
