Hi Jay VanGorden here, we're going to work on Joe Coppola's 2003 S60 non-turbo, today we're going to replace the spark plugs.

First thing you want to do, this is non-turbo so there's no boost pipe in your way. You have this front cover here, you're going to want to remove these T30 torx, so go ahead and do that now.

Before your guys actually remove the spark plugs, make sure you're working on a cool engine, ideal time to do this is first thing in the morning.

What I like to do is mark your coils, obviously this is number 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.

Next you're going to want to take off the bolts for your coils. They're 10mm bolts.

What some people do is that take off the connector and the coil separately, just to save time, take them off together. Sometimes this will happen, the boot will separate, just make sure you put it back.

Get your spark plug socket, and remove your plugs. These plugs have been there for a while, see how worn down they are, look at the electrodes covered in white, needs to be changed.

We're going to replace his with a Genuine Volvo set. When you're putting these in, first thing you want to do is compare what you took off to what you're putting in. These look exactly the same. Always check out the condition of the tops, make sure the grounds aren't crushed in. I like to thread these in by hand, you don't want to cross-thread these.

Now that they're all threaded in, go ahead and tighten them. A lot of you are wondering, "is there a torque spec for these?" There is, best way to go about it is just tighten it by hand, feel for it.

Alright the plugs are all in, they're tight. Time to put our coils back on.

Next up, now that your coils are in, make sure they're all pushed down nice and snug. Put your coil bolts back in.

Before you put this cover back on, you want to make sure that none of the wires or wire looms are going to get pinched by that cover. A lot of times people leave the wires out, put the cover back on, and when they tighten down the cover it pinches some of these wires. You get a miss fire, you get a check engine light, car may not run correctly. So just do a manual inspection, make sure the wires are fine. Looks like these are. Go ahead and put that cover back on.
