Kung Fu Panda is a 2008 American computer-animated martial arts comedy film produced by DreamWorks Animation and distributed by Paramount Pictures. The film stars the voices of Jack Black, Dustin Hoffman, Angelina Jolie, Ian McShane, Seth Rogen, Lucy Liu, David Cross, Randall Duk Kim, James Hong, Dan Fogler, Michael Clarke Duncan, and Jackie Chan. The film, set in a version of ancient China populated by anthropomorphic animals, centers on a bumbling panda named Po (Jack Black), a kung-fu enthusiast. When a notorious snow-leopard named Tai Lung (Ian McShane) is foretold to escape at Chorh-Gom Prison, Po is unwittingly named the "Dragon Warrior"—a prophesied hero worthy of reading a scroll that has been intended to grant its reader limitless power.

"In the Valley of Peace," an Ancient Chinese land populated by anthropomorphic animals, centers on Po, a giant panda who helps his adoptive father, Mr. Ping, run a noodle restaurant. Po aspires to join the Furious Five, a group of kung fu masters, and prove himself as the Dragon Warrior. A prophecy predicts the escape of Tai Lung, a dangerous snow leopard, who seeks the Dragon Scroll for ultimate power. Despite doubts from others, Po is chosen as the Dragon Warrior and undergoes training with Master Shifu and the Furious Five. As Tai Lung escapes, Po overcomes challenges and learns a unique kung fu style, ultimately defeating Tai Lung and earning respect.
