April 20, 1979 - Seattle SuperSonics guard Gus Williams finished with 29 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 steals in his team's 118-112 overtime loss to the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 3 of the 1979 Western Conference Semifinals. Williams was a complete menace this series, averaging 30.8 points on 50 percent shooting as his Sonics cleared the Lakers 4-1.

Williams' dominance alongside fellow backcourt star Dennis Johnson continued for the duration of the postseason, resulting in the Sonics claiming the first NBA championship in franchise history.
