It is the first in a series of five videos about "organization design ideas that may change the world".
The idea I describe in this video is the concept of idealized design proposed by Russell Ackoff. It's an approach for turning conservative, backward looking planning into proactive planning that raises the aspiration level, introduces more creative (yet feasible) solutions, and builds ownership at the same time.
It is different from creating a vision for the future - because it focuses on identifying the ideal solution TODAY rather than trying to predict what will happen in the future.
