Burroughs Class 1 Adding Machine Eps. 2 Carriage Work & Machine Demos

This is the second video in a series on a Burroughs Class 1 Adding Machine. In this episode I explore the carriage & print head system. Do some lubrication & repairs. Most of all sort out and understand the machine some more. This adding machine is quite a bit more complex and has a lot more features than what you would expect from a classic adding machine. This machine attempts to do more work place automation. It was a very advanced effort in the day. Looking at the patients, Burroughs put quite a bit of effort into R&D and worked continuously evolving this machine. This machine was likely made in the late 19 teens. Later part of the video I do series of demos on the various control settings. The resulting different permutations on how the machine will calculate and print can get a bit bewildering. I probably still haven't discovered everything. The nicest thing about this adding machine is it can do subtraction. That and you can set it up for a variety of forms and it will do quite a bit automatically for you.
