The Hemp Roundhouse

In 2016, Greg Flavall joined the team at Starseed Creative to help build one of the most unique homes in the United States — a hempcrete roundhouse in Nevada County, California.

This 1,800-square-foot, two-story hemp-lime roundhouse in Nevada County, California, is reported by its builders to be the first permitted hemp-crete roundhouse in the U.S. — a prime example of how natural materials can meet modern code requirements.

Walls? Made from hemp, lime, and a lot of elbow grease.

It’s fire-resistant, earthquake-resilient, breathable, and beautiful.
