While some early Irish Christians obviously took the traditional Christian view that the gods were demons, this does not seem to have been the common consensus. There is a fair amount of evidence to suggest that at least some viewed the old gods as angelic beings or even God himself.
I make reference to "the book of David" when in reality I mean "Psalms", which many people and tradition says was composed by King David.
