About Mikala Holme Samsøe:

Mikala Holme Samsøe is a Danish architect, educated at the School of Architecture of the Royal Danish Academy in Copenhagen, and she also completed an Executive Master’s program at the Copenhagen Business School alongside her professional work. Together with Prof. Amandus Samsøe Sattler, she founded ensømble Studio Architecture, driven by the desire to contribute to a societal shift from an expansive to a reductive modernity. At Studio ensømble, they consistently develop sustainable concepts with a Scandinavian approach—focusing especially on existing buildings and reused materials—in collaboration with others.
Previously, as a director and member of the management team, she helped establish the internationally active Danish firm Henning Larsen Architects in Munich. Mikala holds the professorship for Design and Composition at the Augsburg University of Applied Sciences. She is a member of the Architectural Advisory Board in Nuremberg, serves on the Design Advisory Board in Stuttgart, and also acts as a juror in architectural competitions.
