NOTES
Decided to try something new for a change this month since they released the VV secret pack. Started only playing really late in the season (27th May) but overall I'm pretty satisfied that I was able to climb from D5 to M1 in 4 days while learning a brand new deck
I chose to run the Nadir Servant package because I love toolbox decks. Having the freedom to customize your ED this extensively is something I never had the chance to do in my Sky Striker builds that run Ultimate Slayer
I also ran Dominus Purge because it is an insane handtrap that counters key starters while not completely overlimiting your ED toolbox. Since most of the cards in your ED that you would send anyway are targets such as N'tss and Herald, the key ED cards that would otherwise be affected are:
S:P (This card is useless!)
Garura (Usually if my opening hand has Nadir, this is my main target. For a deck like VV with only 1 negate, drawing an extra handtrap can be very useful)
Linkuriboh (Effect can be useful for sending Lo to GY on opponent's turn so that you can resummon Lo after Blessings or Prayer. But usually this is just Secure Gardna bait)
TY-PHON (The non-activated effect is usually more impactful)
Chaos Angel (Same as TY-PHON. Summoning it can be rather situational)
Everything in the ED except for Apollousa (yes, for all 3 versions) came up useful at least once
What I found is that a good amount of these games are usually decided really early on since:
VV is rather bricky at times. However, the next banlist unlimits Nadir Servant to 3 which will be good for consistency because it is essentially an additional starter
VV is a deck that is significantly weaker going second. Then again, so are most decks in this game lol
VV has a rather poor matchup against the most popular deck (FS control) in this season's meta because they run Bystials
Decks now run Ghost Ogre to counter Lordly Lode / True Light, which also unfortunately counters the backrow of VV as well
However, if you look past all that, VV is still a rather enjoyable deck to play because of how it challenges you to use your interactions and negate(s) wisely.
DUAD Sky Striker support please release ASAP...
