In the darkened depths of his private chambers on Coruscant, Emperor Palpatine stands alone above a chalk circle covered with ancient Sith runes that cast eerie crimson glows as he mutters summoning words. The air thickens as he sways his arms, letting the dark energies flow out of them and onto the pentagram below.

From the shadowy corner of the room, a figure begins to form. Freddy Krueger emerges, flexing his beskar-clawed glove as he surveys his summoner with curiosity and amusement.

Freddy: Someone pulled my name out of the ancient Sith hat. What do you want, wrinkly?”

Palpatine: I have summoned you, an ancient demon because I require your… unique talents. I have a subject in mind—a young Jedi… strong in the Force, but vulnerable.

Freddy: Vulnerable, huh? Let me guess—he’s got a weakness for a girl? Always the easiest fears to exploit. Probably smells like hormones and anxiety. Why Do you want this guy? And what’s in it for me?

Palpatine: As I said, this young Jedi is strong in the Force, if you succeed in twisting him to the darkness, it will be an incredible boon for the Dark Side. As for what you get, nothing twists a Jedi faster than fear. I have heard much about you and how you feast on fear.

Freddy: Sounds like my kind of party. And all I gotta do is make him lose a little sleep? The kid’s practically mine already.

Palpatine: Go, then. Find him in his dreams. Bring his fears to life… and ensure he learns to trust only the darkness.”

Freddy: This kid’s gonna wish he’d never closed his eyes.

In the dead of night, Anakin lies in a restless sleep, his mind caught in a fog of nightmares. At first, he was in the rolling hills of Naboo where he spent so much time with Padme in their youth.

The two of them are riding atop one of the bulbous Shaaks with Padme’s arms wrapped around his waist as they laugh. He could have stayed there for eternity. But suddenly, the landscape begins to warp. Everything grows distorted as the skies turn blood-red and the ground begins to die around them.

Padme’s grip tightens as a figure emerges from the haze, a scarred, disfigured man with clawed fingers, dressed in a red and green striped sweater and a fedora. The man grins, his yellow-stained teeth glinting wickedly. He waves his hand out.

Freddy: Boo!

The Shaak rears back and Padme loses her grip and tumbles off as the mount goes barrelling away. Anakin leaps off and rushes to Padme, her hair is matted with blood as she remains unmoving.

Freddy: Hey, kid. Have sweet dreams? Don’t worry, I’ll make them unforgettable.

Anakin: Who are you? What do you want?”

Freddy: Just your worst nightmare, junior. But you can call me Freddy.

The nightmare shifts abruptly, and Anakin suddenly finds himself facing Padmé—only she’s crying.

Padme: Don’t—please!

But in this horrific vision, Anakin watches as Freddy raises a crimson lightsaber and drives it through her stomach. Her screams echo across the room as Anakin rushes forward, roaring in rage.

But Freddy raises a finger to his mouth, reaches for his mangled skin and pulls it off, revealing Anakin’s face underneath.

Freddy: Ain’t it sad? Nothing’s worse than a lover’s quarrel.

Anakin: No… no, I would never… I would never hurt her!

Freddy: Oh, but you will, hotshot. You’ve got darkness in you just dying to get out! Best let it out before it forces itself out.

Anakin stumbles back, trying to will himself to wake up.

Freddy: Running? From me? You can’t escape, Anakin! I’m in your head, in your dreams… and soon, I’ll be in your heart, right where that little love of yours is!

Suddenly, Anakin is awake, jerking upright as he feels sweat running down his body. He holds his head in his hand as he glances over at Padme who’s sleeping peacefully. She’s safe, but everything there felt so real. He can hardly believe it.

Meanwhile, Obi-Wan Kenobi moves swiftly through the shadowed passages of Utapau, his mind still racing after his victory over General Grievous. Though he’s drained, he knows he has a job to do and prepares to rejoin the battle.

But as he searches for his troops, he feels an uneasy hums in the Force—a darkness lurking at the edges. He feels for his electro staff and glances around, trying to zero in on the disturbance.

Suddenly, he halts as a figure emerges from the shadows. Tall, silent, and covered in dark, ragged robes, the masked face of Jason Voorhees stares at him. The figure’s weapon gleams dully in his grip, in one hand he carries a vibro-sword, and in the other a slug thrower.

Obi-Wan twirls his staff and readies himself just as Jason lunges forward, swinging his sword at him. Their weapons connect with an eerie hum as the serial killer tries to push back.
