We have sailed this ferry route many times with NorthLink ferries but we have NEVER gone without a cabin!
This year we booked our trip to Shetland really late on, only a week before the crossing which meant no cabins were available as they were all taken by people who had booked well in advance, our choice was either sleep rough in the bar/lounge or pay extra for a pod lounge - for the first time ever we went for the pods!
Find out how we coped and if we thought it was worth it!
On our way out of Aberdeen harbour we had a pod of Bottlenose dolphins sending us off on our journey while hoping that our recent luck with orca (killer whale) encounters around Aberdeenshire/Moray/Caithness would continue on this trip to Shetland!
