Here is a video of the Chicago Junction Railway performing industrial switching operations in the Village of Elk Grove, IL.
Formerly part of the Chicago Terminal, this outfit is now a subsidiary of Progressive Rail, Inc., one of their many shortline operations located throughout the US. It is one of the final remnants of large-scale industrial railroading in the Chicago area, located west of O'Hare International Airport in the major industrial/commercial district.
The railroad rosters a single EMD GP15-1 painted in a unique green and black paint scheme, named after the village it serves. We chase the local throughout the many branchlines and industrial spurs, observing switching in the yard and its numerous customers in the vicinity. The UP local also makes a rare evening appearance, making its interchange at the Chicago Junction's yard. Thanks for watching!
