Winds gusting up 20 knots put Ireland's biggest sailing event back on schedule at Volvo Dun Laoghaire Regatta today (Friday, July 7th), with a full programme of racing held for the 400 competing boats on Dublin Bay.
In a race that sailed as far as Bray in County Wicklow, the line honours winner of the 22-boat Coastal Class was Frank Whelan's canting keel 50-footer Opal from Greystones Sailing Club. The strong winds are expected to continue until the regatta concludes on Sunday.
