I set out to answer a simple but slightly ridiculous question:
Can you build a functional crossbow using only 3D printing and laser cutting?
In this video, I walk you through the entire design and build process—from developing a working trigger mechanism in Fusion 360, to printing prototypes, laminating laser-cut wood limbs, and ultimately assembling a crossbow that (hopefully) fires.
▶ Tools used:
– 3D Printer
– Laser Cutter
– Fusion 360
– A lot of trial and error
Along the way, I run into problems (of course), test multiple trigger designs, break a few things, and make a ton of adjustments until the final build is ready to test. This project pushed my skills in design, fabrication, and questionable decision-making.
