Fort Hamilton honored military retirees and their families during its annual Military Retiree Appreciation Day Oct. 25. The Retirement Service Office, Directorate of Human Resources, Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation, and Religious Support Office organized the event.
Col. Melissa Cantwell, garrison commander, addressed attendees via video message, followed by remarks from Raymond Santiago, deputy garrison commander.
Representatives from the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, U.S. Family Health Plan TRICARE Prime and Department of Veterans Affairs briefed attendees.
The garrison command team presented awards after American Bombshell Entertainment performed a service songs medley.
The day continued with a wellness fair at the post gymnasium and lunch at the community club. The 42nd Infantry Division "Rainbow" Band from the New York Army National Guard provided musical entertainment.
