XI ISLA Festival: Constellation of care / Constelación de cuidados

Conversation with the Irish poet Moya Cannon, the Chilean writer, journalist and academic Sergio Missana and the writer and journalist Jordi Soler, moderated by the Irish writer Catherine Dunne. Part of "ISLA. Navigating Futures".

The guests talk about the motivation behind their writing and the presence of nature and landscape (forest, desert, sea) in their works. They also reflect on the complexity of human relationships and nature, and how to care for them in this changing world.

Moya Cannon is an Irish poet and member of the Irish association of artists Aosdána with a large profesional career. Her first book, Oar, was published in 1990. She published Collected Poems in 2021.

Sergio Missana is author of novels, essays and chidlren’s books. He is Professor of Latin American Literature and Executive Director of the NGO Climate Parliament. His novel The Transentients (trad. Jessica Powell) is published in English.

Jordi Soler is a Mexican author of then novels, translated into several languages. He has published books of short stories, essays and poetry, and also writes articles for newspapers and magazines. He was a diplomat in Ireland and currently lives in Barcelona. His last published book is Los hijos del volcán.

Conversación con la poeta irlandesa Moya Cannon, el escritor, periodista y académico chileno Sergio Missana y el escritor y periodista Jordi Soler, moderada por la escritora irlandesa Catherine Dunne. Parte del programa del festival ISLA. Navegando futuro.

Los invitados charlan sobre la motivación de sus escritura y la presencia de la naturaleza y el paisaje (bosque, desierto, mar) en sus obras. Reflexionan también sobre la complejidad de las relaciones humanas y la naturaleza, y cómo cuidarlos en este mundo cambiante.

Moya Cannon es una poeta irlandesa y miembro de la asociación irlandesa de artistas Aosdána con una amplia trayectoria profesional. Su primer libro, Oar , se publicó en 1990. Publicó Collected Poems en 2021.

Sergio Missana es autor de novelas, ensayos y libros infantiles. Es Profesor de Literatura Latinoamericana y Director Ejecutivo de la ONG Parlamento Climático. Su novela The Transentients (trad. Jessica Powell) se publica en inglés.

Jordi Soler es un autor mexicano de novelas de entonces, traducidas a varios idiomas. Ha publicado libros de cuentos, ensayos y poesía, y también escribe artículos para periódicos y revistas. Fue diplomático en Irlanda y actualmente vive en Barcelona. Su último libro publicado es Los hijos del volcán .
