British cars of the 1950s - 1960s Pt2 | Original photographs of old cars & other vehicles in use

More 1950s & 1960s British car photos make up this addition to the Old Classic Car video channel. Most are black & white, although a few of those from the late 1960s are in colour, which is quite unusual. The majority were also caught on film here in the UK, although a few were photographed in more distant lands.
A number of videos here feature now-classic cars back in the days when they were a common sight on British roads, and this collection shows many of the popular makes and models of cars back when they were in regular use, not "classic cars", just (for the most part) mainstream production cars, bought to do the job of providing daily transport for their owners.
Although this era pre-dates me I still remember many of the cars shown still is use throughout the 1970s and beyond, yet now sightings of such cars are usually at classic car shows and similar meetings, rather than fulfilling their original role.
Highlights for me include a rare Mk2 Hillman Minx DHC, plus a well-laden car ferry down in Cornwall with a selection of British cars on it, two competition-prepared Jaguar Mk7 saloons, a Tripoli-registered Morris Minor 1000, a swish Armstrong-Siddeley Hurricane enjoying a continental road trip, a tantalising glimpse of an Austin A70 woodie, a 1950s Minx driving onto a Silver City air ferry (Bristol Freighter), an immaculate Vauxhall Victor FB estate, and a photo of a vintage Avro aircraft on the roof of a 1950s Ford Thames E83W van.
There are stacks of different videos on here now relating to classic cars, vintage cars, lorries and other vehicles, all inspired by the growing nostalgia of transport in days gone by. The full list is on the following page:
