Check out number 1809, doing exactly what she was always designed to do: pushing a heavy Freight uphill! Here we find the fan favorite locomotive, the big bulky mallet, at the rear of an eastbound manifest freight, headed for allentown, shoving to release the bonds of gravity that slow down the trains ascending the East Penn grade.
This is another consist that is pure R&L. Beheaded power are former Lehigh Valley Alco units, the Caboose has been re-lettered for the merge line, and the big steam engine also has had the Reading on her tender replaced with Reading and Lehigh.

Not always an easy shot to get, in the corner of the layout, because I never installed the lighting under the upper deck that I plan to. This wasn't out of laziness, but shortly after installing it, I realized that we needed to redo it. So I didn't see a point to install lighting I was just going to have to rip out. Of course, that project has been delayed several times, and now there has been no light for about 6 months! It sometimes happens like that, doesn't it?
