For centuries, the Orthodox inhabitants of Poland have been heroic and creative witnesses to the Gospel of Christ, making great contributions to Polish and European culture. Today, as we look at the life of the Orthodox Church in Poland, we see the fruits of the efforts of many generations.

As we celebrate the 100th anniversary of autocephaly, or jurisdictional independence, we should remember that Orthodoxy has been present throughout the entire 1000-year history of Polish statehood.

The project "100 years of atucephaly. 1000 years of history" is carried out with the blessing of His Beatitude Sawa, Metropolitan of Warsaw and All Poland, as part of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the autocephaly of the Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church, which are under the honorary patronage of the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda.
