This week on Top Billing, Chris welcomes us to the best of modern farm life. Or at least that’s how it felt for a young family when they moved from their apartment to the wide-open space and country air of this Highveld eco-estate.
With strict architectural guidelines, this eco-estate emphasises Highveld vernacular, which has been interpreted as farm houses and barns with a modern twist. It also promotes eco-friendly living with solar geysers and gas reticulation which run the house's hobs and fireplace.
By using Mazista rock cladding to cover the garage walls and braai area, the huge cantilevered slab covering the entrance is accentuated. The design of the walkway that leads to the front door truly draws you into the home visually and literally. Your eyes are instantly drawn to the fabulous chain crystal chandelier, which is one of the most loved features in home.
Boasting a contemporary-style interior, with a modern twist and uncluttered spaces, the natural pallet of the home 'pops' with green, duck egg and yellow accent colours.
With large living spaces, and copious amounts of light, this family home is a relaxing sanctuary bar none.
