Namibia on Two Wheels. Game drive at Etosha national Park and Omaruru Game reserve. [Part02/06]

On 14th August 2025, I rode my Himalayan from a Himba Village toward the vast, untamed horizons of Etosha National Park. Before dawn, I found myself waiting at the village gate for it to open, the world still wrapped in darkness. In those tense moments, fear brushed past me. A chilling near-miss encounter with two honey badgers, shadows of the wild asserting their presence.
Etosha soon revealed nature at its most powerful and uncompromising. Mighty elephants roamed freely, a dangerous secretary bird stalked the plains, and hundreds of springboks painted the land with movement. Kudus, wildebeests, zebras, impalas, sociable weaver birds, warthogs, giraffes, and rhinos appeared as if summoned by the rhythm of the savannah itself. With a heart full and humbled, I returned to the Himba Village.
Following day, the journey then carried me onward to Omaruru Game Reserve, where nature unveiled itself in raw, untamed beauty. A courteous game drive brought familiar giants back into view. Elephants once again alongside hippos, rhinos, giraffes, cheetahs, ostriches, and zebras. With so many wildlife encounters in a single day, I could ask for nothing more.
From intimate moments with the wild to endless African horizons, Namibia stands profoundly rich in the wonders of the animal kingdom.
