The third of a four-part series of videos covering the Kirklees Light Railway's bumper "Bendy Engines" gala on 8 September 2012.
At Shelley station a shuttle (or "mixed train" as it was advertised) operated top-and-tailed to the mouth of Woodhouse tunnel, with Resident J70-look-a-like Tram locomotive No.7 "Toby", and 2-6-2T "Fox" at the rear. We see the train depart the station with the Tram in charge.
Later, the same train returns with "Fox" doing the honours.
"Hawk" then switches lines ready for the next train, while "Fox" and No.7 rest on the same line.
"Lady Wakefield" then arrives with a train from Clayton West. The Meyer then reverses onto the train, which we join for one stop to Skelmanthorpe. We see the train curving out of the station, plunging into Woodhouse tunnel and then arriving at Skelmanthorpe station, where we alight.
Whilst "Hawk" waits patiently for a clear line, Garratt No.3 arrives from the opposite direction, then we see both trains depart for their respective destinations.
A few minutes later, we see the shuttle from Clayton West charging towards the station behind "Synolda", with "Ursula" at the rear. The Heywood engine then takes charge for the return trip back to Clayton West.
Concluded in Part 4.
