NASA technology is being deployed to help rescue victims of Mexico City's earthquake.
Though "Finder," the tech in the suitcase-sized radar, was originally developed for outer space, NASA adapted it for Earth to help search for victims of natural disasters.
Finder sends out low microwave signals and analyzes any changes in signals coming back. Those signals can pick up victims' breathing and heartbeats under 30 feet of rubble or 20 feet of solid concrete.
While Finder is currently being used in Mexico, it's been deployed before in Nepal and Ecuador to help search for victims of other natural disasters.
